Detailhandel Nederland
Detailhandel Nederland is the umbrella organisation for all retail trade in the Netherlands. Its purpose is to optimise and strengthen the promotion of retailers’ interests in The Hague and Brussels. By doing so, Detailhandel Nederland furthers the common social and economical interests of shopkeepers and aims to achieve an optimal functioning retail sector.

Detailhandel Nederland focuses on a number of issues including the promotion of safe and efficient payment traffic, combating store robberies and theft, store accessibility and supplying, national and European legislation and the reduction of administrative burdens.
These are tangible issues that every retailer, small and large alike, is confronted with and that put increasing pressure on the way businesses are run. Detailhandel Nederland speaks out whenever and wherever it is necessary. More than just talk about things, we stand for action. We do this by focusing the spotlight on the retail sector and taking a dynamic approach to tackling the problems we all face.
As in previous years, Detailhandel Nederland has devised a work plan for 2009. The work plan is divided into different topics: Accessibility, Payment Traffic, Current Affairs, Europe and Red Tape and Retail Crime. The work plan details the plans and goals for 2009.
